Val d'Ultimo: holidays in the snow far from the chaos
Nature, cuisine and pure air: discover this corner of paradise in South Tyrol
Val d'Ultimo, in South Tyrol, is the ideal destination for true nature lovers, for a safe and relaxing holiday, away from the chaos.
Get ready to experience unique emotions, enjoy excellent cuisine and breathe deeply the pure air of the high altitudes.
Snowy landscapes, sunny days and welcoming temperatures, the beauty of nature and the courtesy of the people, this is the Val d'Ultimo in Alto Adige, certainly one of the most authentic alpine valleys, which has kept the charm of the past, combining it in harmonious way with modern tourist and sporting services.
The Val d'Ultimo is a side valley of the Adige valley that stretches for about 40 km from the Meranese valley to the high mountains of the Stelvio National Park. Therefore, in less than an hour by car, one passes from a mild climate characterized by orchards and vineyards, to the feet of the eternal ice of the Alps.
About halfway along this route is the Schwemmalm ski area: 25 km of slopes always covered with snow and perfectly prepared for skiers, snowboarders, carving lovers, but also for beginners and children. A four-seater chairlift takes you up to 2,600 meters, from where you can enjoy an extraordinary panoramic view of the entire alpine world. A unique experience, but also a challenge for those who want to tackle one of the longest downhill runs in the whole of South Tyrol, are the 5 km of the Asmol track which exceed a total height difference of 1,100 meters.
25 kilometers of slopes for all abilities and tastes, guarantee of snow and sun. At the heart of the Schwemmalm ski area is the ski and snowboard school and the kindergarten for children. The beginner facility allows everyone to learn to enjoy the curves in the snow.
Val d'Ultimo is home to numerous ski champions: Dominik Paris, for example.
